Welcome to the Guillon Family Tree website!
Tracing the ancestry on my maternal grandfather's side of the family, we have learned that our roots go back, so far, to the 1600s in west-central France.
The tree spans over 300 years and some 100 people with surnames including Carré, Gauthier, Daniau, Gaudin, Fourny, Moreau, Brake, Fogden, Archer, Ford, Seal, Duesbury, Wolstenholme, Scott, Pratt, Wegg, Sumnall, Woodward, Samatas, Knowlton, Wright, Vanderloo, Best, McGathan, Foster, McAvoy, Hassanein, Hay and of course Guillon! From the origins of St Martin de Fraigneau and the depths of the French countryside of Fontenay-le-Comte and its suburb of Saint-Médard-des-Prés, La Roche-sur-Yon and Niort, the family moved to England in the late-1800s via the Channel Islands and dispersed to Plymouth, Bristol, Poole, Brighton, London, Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Montreal, Toronto and London again, but this time in Ontario!
This website plans to be as much a tool for myself and my family as it does for anyone researching their own ancestry and who could be related in some way. If you think you may be related, please contact me through the contact link on the menu.
